Most conversations with friends or relatives are used as venting sessions and mostly focus on all the things that are going wrong in one’s life. It’s like watching a train wreck over and over again expecting to feel better about the crash. This is a form of re-traumatization because you keep playing and verbalizing the visional scene in your mind.
